How does Journey With Me add value to my community?
Journey With Me creates an opportunity for residents to interact with each other on a different level, actively engaging their minds and sharing their lives. Rather than being briefly entertained, they are learning, working and being productive. Click HERE to learn more.
Where would we find an intern student?
The Intern Program, described in our Workbook, offers tips on recruiting a nearby college student to intern with you for a semester, while you're facilitating the Journey With Me program. Interns earn college credit through the institution they attend. The program was designed to meet the requirements for a college course. We can also assist you with this: contact us if you need help.
Why include an intern student?
The benefits to our optional intern program are great and numerous:
- Generations are linked as the intern and older participants work together. The intern becomes the eyes for someone with failing eyesight, the hands for someone with arthritis, the typist for those without computers, and the organizer for someone who lacks the skills to capture a story on paper.
- The younger generation learns life values and meaning from the older adults.
- The workshop leader's workload is lightened as the intern types for and assists the participants.
- The intern gains valuable real-life experience and comes to value an older generation.
- The older participants benefit by having their work put into a computer by the intern, and also by connecting with the younger generation.

We don’t have anyone on staff with a degree in English. Who should lead the program for us?
Your ideal program leader is someone who has a desire to help others in a caring way. The Journey With Me program does not require a leader with an education or background in Creative Writing. In fact, we expect that oftentimes the workshop participants know as much as the leader. The leader is not a teacher with students, but a coordinator where all are teaching each other. The program workbook is designed for ease of use. The lessons in the workshop program correspond to the lessons in the Leader’s guide. For more information about the program, click HERE.
Can I return my Program Workbook for a refund?
To maintain program integrity, no refunds can be given once you've purchased of the Workbook. Ample time will be given to you before you purchase the program and help is available to over overcome any issues that arise.
If you have a question that's not answered here, please contact us and we'll be happy to help.
