Aging is a natural progression that starts at birth. Each life can be rewarding and have purpose. Journey With Me is designed to bring purpose into lives that are undergoing change, and to link generations in a reciprocal exchange of imagination, values, traditions, fellowship, dignity and trust. The vehicle is creative writing.
The Journey With Me program brings goal-oriented activity to senior citizens who need to hear that society values their life experience and sees them as teachers. Designed for Activities Directors at retirement or assisted living communities, the program helps the senior citizen overcome physical limitations brought on by aging, enabling them to share and capture their stories. When interns are included, a generation that will one day soon be responsible for making decisions about our rapidly growing senior population will have a clearer understanding of who these people are and how their needs can best be met.
